"Katie"

Katie Joined our family in January 2004.  Erika Lanasa was kind enough to entrust her to our care.  Katie started her show career in May 04.  She was a typical puppy on her first time in the ring.  Her career was put on hold a few weeks later when I was hospitalized for a  ruptured disc.  It took me most of the summer to recover.  Katie won her first points in October going BOB over a Special for 2 pts.  She won her first major in January 2005.  It was a great win for us.  She picked up all the single points she needed during the summer along with several BOBs.  Then we were off looking for that last major.  When I entered her at the Delaware Valley Chinese Crested Specialty in October of 2005  I never dreamed that we would find it there.  But we did.  Katie my special girl finished her championship in high style with a 4 pt major (missing a 5 pt major with 1 bitch short of the 32 needed).  I was so proud.  Katie finished her show career at Westminster in February 2006.  We had a great time on the carpet at such a prestigious show.  And she was a huge hit with the fans that came back to the bench area where she held court dressed all in pink with a pink bed and a pink crate.  Katie does love to dress up.  But more then anything she is a tomboy and loves to chase our chickens, ducks and sheep.  She also runs with her Daddy several miles a week.
