Ashley's Adventures at Westminster 2010
Ashley went to Westminster. What a weekend we had. We started off by taking the train in on Thurs to NYC. Ashley did great on the train and the trip was relatively easy. We departed the train at Penn Station which is just under Madison Square Garden and across the street from the Hotel Pennsylania where we were staying. The lobby was filled with people and lots and lots of dogs. We checked in and went up to our room. We had an early night cause we needed an early start for the Progressive show the next morning. We started grooming very early the next morning in our room. Then we went to the mezzinine level and finished grooming there. Ashley has never looked better. Her new trim (English Saddle) was perfect and she went Best opposite Sex. After having a nice lunch with my sister and mother who were in from the west coast we headed back home on the train. The trip home was long but we made lots of friends along the way.

Sunday we were back off to NYC with my Sister Julie. We stayed at the Hotel PA again. We were up and over to the Garden by 6:30 am. Ashley's ring time was 9:15. We pushed our way through the crowds and got our number. It was Ashley's first time on the carpet at Westminster. She took everything in stride including all the photographers around the ring snapping pictures. She didn't win an award but she comported herself with pride and diginity. Then we were back in the grooming area breaking down her topknot and sitting on her bench in less then an hour after our ring time. This is when Ashley really began to shine. She was the perfect ambassador for the toy poodle. Since her birthday was the day before on Valentine,s day Ashley gave all the kids valenines and an autograph card that I had made for her. She was petted, photographed, interviewed by numerous TV stations, magazines, and fans non-stop from 10am until 8pm. She was exhausted, but acted every bit the princess that she is. I was very proud of her. I know that hundreds of people that came to Westminster this year will remember the wonderful little Valentine toy poodle named Ashley.
